Manto LO, graduated from the Bachelor of Visual Arts program at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2022. During this period, she visited the Mogao Cave in Dunhuang, China. The pigments used in the murals in the caves inspired Manto's creation. After graduation, she focused on the creation of mineral painting. She went to Yunnan and Beijing to learn mineral painting, and also went to Japan for inspection and exchange.
Manto's artworks record daily life objects. Her art works record daily life. Plants, landscapes, animals, and ordinary daily objects will be the objects of depiction. She uses mineral pigments that are not easy to fade to depict these perishable and easily ignored daily life. She experiences it as a bystander and recorder, to feel the changes in life, and capture the state these changes create for people. Manto hope to be healed and inspired by the process of painting, and she wants to continue to create works that can soothe the soul and arouse resonance.
